Welcome to the Elementary School. We provide students, pre-school through Grade 5, with an inquiry based program with the perspective of international mindedness. We also embrace the understanding of the culture of our host country of Syria.

The curriculum, the Primary Years Program (PYP), provides a framework for the elementary students to demonstrate their knowledge through inquiry while learning and practicing concepts and skills. The structure of the curriculum is encompassed by the I.B. Learner Profile.   The elementary students aim to be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.  The school environment incorporates the set of attitudes prescribed by the PYP curriculum. The attitudes are; appreciation, commitment, confidence, cooperation, creativity, curiosity, empathy, enthusiasm, independence, integrity, respect and tolerance. Within this framework our students are able to demonstrate their individuality academically and socially in our school.

Each elementary student at IISA is encouraged to be a principled self-directed, life-long learner who strives for excellence. As you browse through the website you will find this thread throughout all that we do in the Elementary School.
