Welcome to IISA Middle School. The years of early adolescence abound with potential and opportunity for every child. The IISA Middle School strives to guide our students through this sometimes difficult time with a developmentally appropriate program. Our philosophy is that students learn best in a program that is inquiry based, student-centered, and teaches the life skills of responsibility, independence, self-esteem and mutual respect.

We believe that a parent and school partnership is extremely important in helping students reach their potential. The IISA Middle School Staff believe that every young adolescent:
- Should be actively engaged in relevant and challenging learning activities that are developmentally appropriate.
- should have access to the best programs and resources the school can offer.
- has the capacity to learn, grow, and develop into a knowledgeable reflective, caring, ethical, and contributing citizen.
- faces significant life choices and needs support in making wise and healthy decisions.
- is best able to learn and grow in an environment that is safe, positive, and supportive and where everyone is valued and respected. (based on NMSA, This We Believe: Successful Schools for Young Adolescents)
